Founded in 1982 in North St. Paul, Minnesota, Bending Branches moved operations about 35 miles east to Osceola, Wisconsin twelve years later, in 1994. Since then, Bending Branches has ceaselessly pursued innovation and betterment of the paddling experience on a global scale, but never strayed from its small-town integrity.

Aqua Bound would be founded nine years later, in 1991; originally based in Surrey, B.C., Canada. By virtue of influential partnerships, quality products, and a similar innovative spirit, Aqua Bound grew into a leading kayak paddle manufacturer, even garnering formal recognition as the best-selling paddle in the industry.

In 2008, Aqua Bound was purchased by Branches LLC (Bending Branches) and began moving operations to their shared factory in Osceola, WI. Together under one roof, the two brands have flourished, as they fill out the many needs of the paddle sports customer. Bending Branches produces wood and composite canoe, recreational kayak, and kayak fishing paddles, while Aqua Bound produces premium touring kayak and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) paddles, as well as paddles for a variety of whitewater disciplines.

Today, Aqua Bound and Bending Branches continue to elevate the experience of paddlers worldwide, sharing innovations between the brands including Posi-Lok and Versa-Lok™ ferrule systems and patent pending Lam-Lok™ edge protection technology.
